What are some of the benefits of working with me? • Learn to calm difficult emotions • Find more harmony in your relationships • A way through depression, stress & anxiety • Discover greater meaning and purpose in your life • Learn the deep patterns that are holding you back • Learn new healthier behaviours that support positive change About Blair. I am an experienced psychotherapist and counsellor, passionate about helping people make meaningful and lasting change. I draw from 25 years’ experience in helping people change and grow and from my own journey of self-discovery and growth. Before becoming a therapist I worked with people suffering mental health challenges, helped young people through isolation and depression as well as working in mentoring and coaching roles. Whilst living in Asia and America I explored many paths of study including meditation, yoga, western psychology and philosophy. My passion for kayaking and adventures has taken me around the world. I have represented NZ at the kayaking rodeo world championships, run multi day adventures in Nepal as well as running first descents of extreme rivers. Rivers have taught me a lot about life challenges, how to let go and get into an experience of flow. What is Psychotherapy? And how do I work? Psychotherapy explores our fundamental, underlying patterns and structures. It goes deeper to uncover root causes of problems, resulting in more dramatic changes in oneself. I work to help you identify your underlying these patterns that are holding you back, through body mind and feelings. Some of these patterns will be known to you, many will be unknown. You will learn ways to skilfully manage these patterns that no longer serve you, whilst learning to shift into new healthier ways. Psychology is evolving quickly and as such how I work needs to reflect this. I am constantly training and developing in order to offer you what works the best to help facilitate change and learning. I am currently completing my training in Somatic Experiencing which is a body-oriented therapeutic model. I have also recently trained in D.A.R.E (Dynamic Attachment Re-Patterning therapy) I have been trained in Psychosynthesis, which is a holistic approach that holds every human being has a vast potential for personal growth. That we have an ability to synthesise all the different aspects of ourselves towards our highest potential. Imagine you are the conductor of the orchestra directing all the different instruments of your life so that they play in harmony.
