Heather is a Provisional Member of The New Zealand Association of Counsellors, in her first year of practice as a professional counsellor. She brings her training as a Life Coach and Master Practitioner in Neuro Linguistic Programming to her practice and likes to work with an Educational and Solution Focused Approach to support individuals in their roles as parents and caregivers. Heather has completed Level 2 Clinical Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and plans to continue her professional development in working with couples alongside her study of relationships in general. Being able to relate and connect with others is a key factor in building resilience and thriving in life, and Heather is passionate about understanding what makes relationships work well. Understanding patterns of relating to others can help in developing the skills to be in relationship with another which is important in marriage and parenting, as well as work and social environments. Heather brings her experience from being married for 30 years, parenting her two sons who are now in their early 20s, and navigating her way through the challenges of balancing family, work and personal goals. She brings a practical and compassionate approach to her work.
