Biography

When we are struggling with our mood - we are offered two options - talk therapy or medications - however we have a number of other options available to us to support our mental well-being and to help us cope with stress. Research has shown that how we live our lives (what we eat, how often we move and the quality of our sleep) can have a significant impact on the way we think, feel and behave. By using a mindful approach, we can gain insight into our thoughts and behaviours - and with gentle self-compassion, we can bring changes and insights that can last a lifetime. Hello - I'm Helen, a registered nurse and certified life coach who worked in a holistic health clinic for five years and in mental health for 20 years. I bring a holistic approach encompassing conventional medicine, psychology, lifestyle medicine and life coaching skills to support your well-being. If you are experiencing depression, anxiety or other mental health issues or if you simply require support adjusting or transitioning through a challenging period in your life - my approach is to empower you to get through and provide you with tools to promote a resilient future. My qualifications include a Master's in Health Science (Mental Health), an Advanced diploma in mental health nursing, a certified Life Coach and certificates in nutrition, DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and IDT (Interactive Drawing Therapy) and have completed training in Nutritional and Environmental Medicine through ACNEM (Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine).
