Biography
Sharla first began counselling in 2008 and has been in private practice in New Zealand for the 3 years. Prior to this, Sharla worked in private practice while living and teaching at University in Hawaii. Sharla works with both male and female clients from all ethnic groups ranging from adolescent age to adulthood. She also has extensive experience and knowledge working with couples, families, and other relationships. Sharla’s preferred methodology of working from clients is through Cognitive Behavioural Therapy although she utilises an integrative approach to treatment including mindfulness practices, Solution Focused Therapy, and Experiential therapies. In addition to counselling, Sharla also has experience teaching at a University level for Family Science and Parenting. Sharla is passionate about utilising a systemic approach to treatment in treating not only the individual but enhancing all aspects of that individual’s life and relationships.

Bachelor in Child Development,Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy,Post Graduate Diploma in Drug and Alcohol,Counselling Member of NZ Association of Counsellors
